Privacy policy
This page describes the information Stand Next To processes when you use the public site, save comparison preferences in your browser, or use an optional paid feature.
Ordinary browsing and pageview measurement
You do not need an account for ordinary height comparisons. On eligible public pages, Stand Next To records a first-party pageview event containing the normalized page path, page type, source label, count, and site hostname. The measurement dataset does not intentionally store the page query string or hash, your email address, or a persistent visitor identifier.
Hosting, security, and network providers may process normal technical request information such as IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, and requested URLs as needed to deliver, protect, troubleshoot, and operate the site.
Information stored in your browser
Stand Next To can remember your comparison preferences and recent comparisons using browser-local storage. This information stays on your device unless you choose a feature that submits relevant comparison state to the service, such as an optional premium purchase flow. You can remove browser-local data through your browser's site-data controls.
Premium purchases and Stripe
If you use an enabled premium feature, payment is processed by Stripe. Stand Next To may receive and store information needed to verify and fulfill the purchase, such as Stripe checkout/payment identifiers, payment status, amount and currency, the email returned by Stripe, the comparison reference/path, checkout responses, fulfillment status, and timestamps.
Stand Next To does not need your full card number or CVC to fulfill the premium result. Stripe handles payment credentials under its own services and privacy practices. Premium-specific details are also described in the premium privacy notice.
Advertising
Some eligible pages may include Google AdSense advertising when advertising is enabled. When Google ads are present, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve, personalize, limit, and measure advertising as permitted by applicable settings and law.
Google explains how it uses information from partner sites in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Advertising preferences can be reviewed in Google Ads Settings.
Why information is used
- operate and improve the comparison service;
- measure which public pages are actually used;
- remember browser-local comparison preferences;
- verify and fulfill optional purchases;
- provide support and appropriate refunds;
- prevent abuse, secure the service, and troubleshoot failures;
- meet legal, accounting, security, and dispute-resolution obligations where applicable.
Retention, choices, and requests
Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, subject to operational, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal requirements. Third-party providers apply their own retention practices to information they process.
Where applicable, you can ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with you by contacting support@standnextto.com. Some records may need to be retained where deletion is not legally or operationally permitted.
